Gotsoul records is the labor of love of two of veteran Montreal dj’s JojoFlores & Mike Fresco.  With releases ranging from afro-Latin house, to deep soulful garage, and neosoul, the gotsoul mandate is to support timeless music that fuses electronica and house music with soul & jazz and other vibrant spiritual and organic sounds, Jojo & Mike have spent the last decade building one of the  world’s most prominent deep house labels.  Each and every gotsoul release is representative of the spectrum of sounds both enjoy as djs and as people. Gotsoul records is a deep house label at root, but not every gotsoul record is just another club record. Jojo & Mike each have their own specific tastes and dj style, but somewhere down the line there is alot of common ground. jojoflores: Jojoflores’ reputation for rocking a dance floor has rewarded him with multiple residencies at famed clubs world wide, including New York City’s Cielo; Nikki Beach Miami; Deep in Los Angeles; Lotus in Hawaii; along with venues/events in Melbourne, Dubai, Brazil, Santorini & Athens. He was voted “Best International DJ” 4 years running b y NYC’s Undaground Archives. His dedication and hard work have also garnered him a corporate client list, which includes MAC Cosmetics, Apple, Hugo Boss, Vanity Fair, Puma, Details Magazine, Banana Republic, Cadillac, and The Delano Hotel. Mike Fresco:

As a kid in the seventies, he grew up listening to his brother’s disco collecion, and by the early 80’s, was exposed to a wide range of influences such as electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk, Afrika Bambaata, Herbie Hancock and Arthur Baker, followed by the early house sounds of Chicago & New York, all of which which helped define his dj style and musical tastes at a very young age. He spent his early dj years spinning  a mix of house, techno, hip hop, reggae, r&b and freestyle in some of Montreal’s hottest clubs, and at one point was the most in demand dj in the city drawing in crowds of 2000+ clubbers on a weekly basis. In the early to mid 90’s, Mike fell deep into the vibe of house and over the last decade, through is hard work, determination and love of music, he’s worked his way into the heart of music industry.  He has had the privilege to work in many different aspects of the business (manufacturing, licensing, promotions, distribution, & bookings) with numerous world reknowned record labels and artists including Arcade Fire, Geoffrey Oryema, Osunlade, Jody Watley, Trentemoller, Fred Everything, Byron Maiden (Lost Fingers/Bunka Busta), Louie Vega, Steve Lawler, Pete Tong, Andy Caldwell, Ministry of Sound, Global Underground, Plastic City, Sony, Universal, Defected, MAW, West End & numerous others. His name appears on over half a million cds & records, mostly in the fine print as Executive Producer. Mike Fresco also possesses a magical charm behind the decks, and his sets are laced with colorful vibes ranging from soulful house, tribal, afro-latin, jazzy, funky, deep, tech, ghetto, rare groove, funk & dub sounds… his sets have been described as deep, energetic, eclectic and captivating. Mike holds a bi-monthly residency at Therapy and Therapy Classic House nights, and spins along side Jojo and  gotsoul artists for the Gotsoul Sessions, an event that showcases gotsoul artists and djs. JaBig: Jabig is a house music dj from Montreal, Canada whose professional journey has seen him perform in front of thousands of music lovers worldwide from Johanessburg, South Africa to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil via New York City and Toronto, and appearing at reputed events such as the Montreal Formula 1 Week-End, the Miami Music Conference and the Montreal International Jazz Festival. JaBig recently joined gotsoul records as a business partner and has been a Therapy Montreal resident alongside JojoFlores for 5+ years. In 2010, he will embark on his biggest journey yet: the first ever Humanitarian DJ round-the-world tour by car which will see him visit and perform in over 200 countries.
